This week, we have been learning all about Christmas! We have read our Christmas story – Dear Santa, dressed up in Christmas costumes, made our letters to Santa and taken pictures with Santa in front of the green screen! What an exciting week.
We have been finding the initial sounds/writing the names of Thomas and his friends with the letter stampers, painted our own trains, joined in with our train counting song, made out own trains using the blocks, visited the forest area and explored the Nativity scene for our Christmas video! How exciting!
Next week, we will be starting to learn all about Christmas and will be reading the story ‘Dear Santa’! Please watch the video of the story below with your child at home!
This week, we have enjoyed learning about Thomas the Tank Engine! We have read our story (Thomas’ Big Race), have been on a virtual train ride, made marks on the large train track, sorted shape trains, junk modelled a train, recreated Thomas the Tank Engine and made our names using train carriages! Another busy week for Primrose Class!
This week, we have enjoyed reading and learning about Peckaboo Jungle! We have been making big and small towers, building the Lego characters from the story, painting onto jungle animal stencils, doing jungle animal puzzles, playing peekaboo, watching the jungle animals on Chester Zoo live and making fruits kebabs! What a busy week for Primrose Class!
Today, we have enjoyed celebrating Ladywood’s 20th Birthday! We have taken part in lots of activities including mark making on birthday cake, decorating a number 20, making birthday cake with playdough and writing ’20’ and ‘birthday’ in icing! This afternoon, we have had a party and had a celebration snack time!

This week, we have been focusing our learning around Halloween (particularly the “5 Little Pumpkins” song).
We have taken part in lots of fun activities including decorating pumpkin biscuits, carving pumpkins, making skeletons using cotton buds and having a Halloween disco! What a brilliant way to finish off our first half term in Primrose Class! All the children have settled into Little Ladywood so well and we couldn’t be prouder of them!
This week in Primrose Class, we have been learning all about Incy Wincy Spider. We have been cutting with scissors, counting spiders and putting legs on the spider! We have also been making sparkly webs and handprint spiders. What a fun week!
Hello and Happy World Mental Health Day (for tomorrow)!
Today, we have taken the opportunity to celebrate all of our emotions by identifying why we are kind using symbols,singing our ‘Happy song’ and encouraging the children to tell us how they are feeling using our emotions chart. We have embraced #helloyellow by exploring yellow sensory trays, having yellow snacks at tuck time and choosing between yellow bubbles and balloons. What a lovely Friday.
