A scientific trip to the garden centre to find light and sound sources.

This half term in science we have been investigating light and sound sources and deciding which objects are a source of light and which objects are a source of sound. On Friday we went on an exciting scientific investigation to the Garden Centre to find light and sound sources, YIPEE!
On the way round the children were able to find lots of lovely Christmas lights, light up trees, light up toys and various other light up objects. The children used their light or sound stick to vote if they could see light or hear sound and sometimes we saw and heard both!

We found some exciting musical and light up Christmas ornaments that moved and sang songs, they were amazing!
On our investigation for sound we heard some very peculiar noises coming from part of the garden centre…. and to our amazement it was ANIMALS! We found some monkeys, birds, rabbits and fish.
The children displayed great understanding of light and sound sources and they were able to communicate this either verbally or using the light and sound symbols.

We had a lovely time and really enjoyed travelling on the school minibus there and back!
