What a fantastic week in R2!

This week, we have been doing lots of learning all about our favourite Nursery Rhmyes – particularly Head, Shoulders, Knees and Toes!

We have been drawing our faces, collaging our faces with items we collected from the forest, sorting objects, learning about big and small and much more!

We also really enjoyed our first ‘Magical Moments’ session on Thursday afternoon. Thank-you so much to everyone who came and made the afternoon so special!

Have a lovely weekend.

Next week, our focus will be around Incy Wincy Spider, please encourage your child to listen and join in with the rhyme at home!

Last week as RK

We are enjoying our last week together in RK by doing lots of fun activities! Yesterday, we went to the park and had an ice-lolly!

We have loved being part of your child’s first year at Ladywood and would like to thank you for all your support!

Have an amazing summer holidays and we’ll see you in September!

Team RK

Smoothie ice-lollies!

On Monday, we showed the children pictures of different smoothies and we made a visual shopping list of all the fruits we wanted in our smoothies. We then walked to Tesco and bought our fruit.

On Wednesday, we chopped up our fruits…

…and mixed them all together in the blender! We were able to press the sensory tile to turn the blender on and off on our own!

We even splatted the fruits to make smoothies on the interactive floor in the sensory room!

We then froze our smoothies to make them into ice-lollies.

They tasted yummy!

Look At Our Amazing New Light Room!

The children had an amazing time exploring our new light room in school. The interactive floor was very exciting and has so many different options to choose. The light up shape box allowed the children to choose different shapes and colours. The vibrating chair was fun to lie on and the bubble tube played a game so the children could select the correct colour using the coloured paddles.

RK had lots of fun and are looking forward to our next session in the light room.

Smithill’s Farm walk

This week, we have been reading the story ‘Dora’s Eggs’. We have been learning about different animals, their babies and how they grow; particularly chicks hatching from eggs and growing into chickens!

Today, we have been on a walk around the public footpath next to Smithill’s Farm!

We saw lots of animals…

…and even stopped for an ice-cream!

What a lovely day!

Cress Growing Competition 2019

Today, was the day of the Cress Growing Competition between RK and RB!

Thankyou to everyone who grew their cress at home and returned it to be judged!

The cress was judged on height and general appearance. Everyone that has participated has received a certificate and a prize.

Here are our lucky winners…

We even tried a cress sandwich!

Teddy Bear’s picnic

Today has been our Teddy Bear’s picnic day. This morning we made a shopping list of all the yummy things we wanted at our picnic. RK then had a walk to Tesco a got everything that was on our list. When we came back to school we checked we had everything and made our sandwiches. After our very busy day, we all sat down with the Teddy Bears to enjoy our picnic. We will be very tired little teddy bears tonight.
