Wonderful week

We have had a wonderful week in 6K!

This week we have enjoyed reading Supertato as part of our detective and crime learning. We enjoyed retelling the story and making our own Supertatos.

In Science, we have been learning about solids, liquids and gases changing state. We enjoyed freezing evil peas in water, melting chocolate to make rice crispie cakes, mixing ingredients to make biscuits and we also enjoyed trapping the evil peas in jelly!

In Maths, we have worked hard counting using evil peas and using coins to add.

At the end of the week we enjoyed making each other laugh and smile by telling jokes, dancing and saying kind things to each other as part of our Mental Health #helloyellow activities.

Have a lovely weekend!

Take care

This Weeks Breaking News from 6K

We started this week by introducing Detective McWoof. The children were all fabulous at acting out the story which helped them to write about it too!

In science the children  learned all about the three states of matter, solid, liquid, gas, and enjoyed observing an experiment to inflate a balloon using bicarbonate on soda and vinegar to create a gas.

We learned all about the Northern and Southern hemispheres, and the equator in Geography.

Have a lovely weekend

Another great week of super learning in class 6K

This week 6K have continued to work really hard.  We read the book Pigeon PI, and made a poster. We have also been learning about money, naming and recognising coins. We were super scientists learning all about materials, and in geography we looked at physical features and human features.

We are all looking forward to Mcmillan  coffee morning on Monday.

Have a lovely weekend!

6K have had a fantastic week!

We have had a brilliant week in 6K with lots of learning!

In English, we enjoyed reading The Detective Dog by Julie Donaldson. We pretended to be detectives with our magnifying glasses and we wrote clues about ourselves in writing.

During Maths number, we enjoyed counting eyes to stick on our monsters and some of us worked really hard on addition and subtraction. In Maths capacity, we enjoyed pouring liquids and filling containers with a range of solids to identify more/less, full, empty, half full, one quarter full and three quarters full.

We loved spending time in the school forest area labelling human and physical features during Geography. In Science, we have been learning all about objects made from different materials.

All of this tricky learning alongside PE games, PSHCE and music…WOW!

We hope you all have an amazing weekend.

Take care

Welcome back to Ladywood 6K!

All of the children have settled in really well and have already produced lots of amazing art work, completed tricky learning and they have enjoyed seeing their friends. We have also enjoyed building new relationships with new friends and staff.

If you haven’t already, please can you send in a PE kit and wellies for when the children go outside to the forest area and sign up to our class dojo.

Take care 🙂
