ICT – Learning from home

The ICT team hope you are all doing well!

We are very aware that over this period of time we may be using the internet more frequent.
So we will look at what we can do to keep ourselves safe on the internet.
This links to our Digital Citizenship part of the ICT curriculum.
On Espresso there are some lovely videos/activities to help explain internet safety.

Below is a video of one of the stories for you to share at home.

In the next video there is a sorting activity you could try that helps decide on what information we should and should not share online.

There is a similar game on Espresso. Login on our blog home page and follow these steps.

Listen to this lovely rhyme that will help remind you of all the key points on staying safe online.

As we are all currently developing our ICT skills at home and adapting to learning in different ways, whether this be on your laptops, computers or iPads, we thought it would be a good idea to show you how to safely use ICT for your super learning at home!
Here are a few websites that we would recommend you use, they all currently have free trials and have lots of different activities for a range of ages;

Using ICT is a great way to practice your art skills with different resources, there are lots of different websites available with drawing and colouring activities.

Here is one we have tried at home using Purple Mash. Why not get yourself a mirror and let’s look at our facial features

Watch this video and see if you can draw yourself at home!

What colour is your hair?

What colour are your eyes?

How many ears do you have?

Do you wear glasses?

Is your mouth happy or sad today?

We have also used the same website to practice our phonics skills using ICT.

Can you practice your letter sounds with this game?

Can you find the letters on your keyboard?

Sound the letters out as you type them, what does it spell?

We would love to see all of the pictures you have created of yourselves! Why not have a go at the different activities available on these websites and don’t forget to email them to friendsofladywood@bolton.sch.uk

Stay safe everyone and we can’t wait to see what you come up with at home!

The ICT team,

Paul, Sarah, Paula and Olivia.
