Bienvenue du personnel de MFL!
Welcome from the MFL team!
All of our KS2 classes enjoy learning French. We listen to and learn some words in French and, as we learn more, we might join these into simple sentences.
We start with words like “Bonjour” and “Au revoir”.
Here is a little song to help with these words.
We also enjoy learning about France as a country and the culture of France.
In Paris, the capital city of France, there is a big tall tower … does anyone know what this is called?
That’s right the Eiffel Tower.
Have you visited the Eiffel Tower? If you have we’d love to see some photos.
Did you know …
- The Eiffel Tower was originally built as the entrance arch for the World’s Fair in 1889.
- It is named after Gustave Eiffel, whose company was in charge of the project.
- The Eiffel Tower is 320 metres (1050 feet) in height and was the tallest man made structure in the world for 41 years before being surpassed by the Chrysler Building in New York.
Can you find out any more interesting facts?
We would like you to have a go at creating your own model or image of the Eiffel Tower. Here are some ideas we have created at home.
You can create your Eiffel Tower out of anything you like indoor or outdoors. Why not write a label for it and some of the interesting facts you have found too?
Please email your creations to firstname.lastname@example.org as we would love to see them.
Take care from Sharon and Jenny
Au revoir, à bientôt
